Academic Formation
Bertha Torres Gómez MD, was born in Mexico City; she graduated in 1996 with honors from the faculty of medicine of the UNAM; In 1999 she finished General Surgery in Gea González Hospital. After that she was formed in one of the most recognized specialty courses in Plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at the Hospital General de México founded on 1954 by the Doctor Fernando Ortiz Monasterio. Because of her interest in research, from 2004 to 2006 she studied a postgraduate Master course in Medical Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and is board certified by the Mexican Board of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. She currently tends to her private practice, is an associate professor in the specialization course of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México based at the Hospital General de México. She is president of the Plastic Surgery Association of the Hospital General de México, as well as a member of the directors’ board of the Mexican Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
